Rita is a Georgia native who earned both her Bachelor and Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. As a social worker, she served a wide range of children and families, with a special focus on strengthening parent–child relationships and interactions. After becoming a mother herself, Rita grew deeply involved in her own children’s education, which eventually led her to the classroom.
She began teaching in the Cubs classroom in 2006, when CDS first opened its doors, and quickly fell in love with the creativity, joy, and discovery of early childhood education. In the fall of 2020, Rita transitioned to the Panda classroom, where she continues to be inspired by the innocence and wonder of this special stage of development.
Rita is known for her kindness, patience, and warmth, and she treasures the relationships she builds with children and families alike. She is also the proud mom of two adult children, Will and Gracie.
