Greg Thomas

Greg Thomas is a part-time music specialist and brass instructor. Greg taught for 34 years in Albemarle County, the last 26 years of which were spent leading the award-winning Albemarle High School Bands. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at CDS, he is on the Music Faculty at James Madison University, where he teaches Jazz Band, Music Pedagogy, and Improvisation. In 2022, he was inducted into the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director’s Association Hall of Fame for his contributions to instrumental music education. An active performer and clinician, Greg collaborates with the CDS music team to bring musical opportunities to CDS students.
