We will also focus on healthy food choices that give our bodies optimum energy to play!

What is oobleck? Is quicksand real? Kitchen science meets classic literature to discover the answers to these questions and many more! Using basic kitchen ingredients, budding mad scientists mix and concoct non-Newtonian fluids from well known stories and other slimy, sticky, wacky goop. Bring a smock or wear play clothes selected for messy activities.

Participant agrees to cooperate with all COVID-19 related rules required, at the sole descretion of CDS, while participating in any CDS program.
Participant agrees that CDS cannot and does not guarantee that participant or family will not contract or become infected with COVID-19 or related disease.
By visiting CDS and/or participating in CDS programs of any kind, participant voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
PARTICIPANT HEREBY RELEASES, WAIVES, AND AGREES TO HOLD HARMLESS CHARLOTTESVILLE DAY SCHOOL, INC., ITS TRUSTEES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS (COLLECTIVELY, “CDS”) FROM AND AGAINST ANY ECONOMIC OR NON- ECONOMIC LOSSES, DAMAGES, SUITS, CLAIMS, ATTORNEY’S FEES, COSTS, OR DEMANDS, OF EVERY KIND AND NATURE WHATSOEVER, WHETHER FOR BODILY INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, DEATH, OR LOSS OTHERWISE, WHETHER CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY CDS’S NEGLIGENCE ARISING FROM, OR ALLEGED TO HAVE ARISEN FROM PARTICIPANT’S PRESENCE ON CDS PROPERTY OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY CDS PROGRAMS.
PARENTAL AGREEMENT
- CDS agrees to notify the parent(s)/guardian(s) whenever the child becomes ill and the parent(s)/guardian(s) will arrange to have the child picked up as soon as possible if so requested by CDS.
- The parent(s)/guardian(s) authorize CDS to obtain immediate medical care if any emergency occurs
when the parent(s)/guardian(s) cannot be located immediately. **
- The parent(s)/guardians agree to inform CDS within 24 hours or the next business day after his child or any
member of the immediate household has developed a reportable communicable disease, as defined by the State Board of Health, except for life threatening diseases which must be reported immediately.
* Appropriate paperwork such as custody papers shall be attached if a parent is not allowed to pick up the child.
* NOTE: Section 22.1-4.3 of the Code of Virginia states that unless a court order has been issued to the contrary, the noncustodial parent of a
student enrolled in a public school or day care center must be included, upon the request of such noncustodial parent, as an emergency contact
for events occurring during school or day care activities.
