Jarrett Knepper

Jarrett is a Charlottesville native who has Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and in Studio Art from Guilford College, where she was also a Bonner Scholar, Dean’s List student, and member of the Women’s Swim Team, among other extracurriculars. She has taught public elementary school in North Carolina as well as here in Charlottesville. She has also been on the education and management faculty of the Virginia Discovery Museum and of Congregation Beth Israel. Jarrett is very excited to be joining Charlottesville Day School for her first year of teaching the Cubs and cannot wait to meet her students – get to know them, their strengths, and their interests, and help them excel through their inaugural CDS experience! She believes that there is a magical alchemy that occurs when children find their learning style and begin to apply it to their educational path, and being a part of that is one of Jarrett’s very favorite things. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her black lab, Moss, and working on art projects, cooking, and listening to live local music.
