These camps are for rising 1st-4th grade students. (Theater Camp – Rising 1st – 6th Grade)

Half Day (8:45am – 12:00pm) – $275.00
Half Day and Afternoon Camp (8:45am – 3:30pm) – $400.00

Extended Day (3:30pm – 5:00pm) – $80.00

Do you want your child excited, exploring, and exercising this summer? CDS camps provide young learners with multiple avenues to not only develop their academic skills, but to also play, create, and be active! Bears day campers spend their mornings growing as readers, writers, scientists and/or mathematicians as they explore different subjects, alongside skilled educators who have a passion for teaching.

 

Week 1: June 12 – 16

THEATER CAMP (Rising 1st – 6th Grade)

  • “Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning!” Step on the stage, discover your inner actor and become a part of the magical world of Neverland on stage as CDS presents Peter Pan, Jr!  This is an all day camp. Afternoon Performance at PVCC on Friday, June 16—more details to follow.

Week 2: June 19 – 23

BOOKMAKING: READ, WRITE, PLAY

  • Let’s go on a reading adventure! Campers will dive into all aspects of reading and writing, while experiencing stories in many exciting ways. Embracing the joy that is listening to many wonderful tales. Become authors, illustrators, and storytellers!  Campers will also have the chance to be active and play outside, enjoying all that summer has to offer!

Week 3: June 26 – 30

SPORTSMANIA!

  • Join Ms. Goodloe for a high energy week of sports and PE games. This week will be spent outdoors, in the gym, and at Meade Park playing sports such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and floor hockey as well as some favorite PE games and minute-to-win-it challenges. We will also focus on healthy food choices that give our bodies optimum energy to play!

Week 4: July 3 – 7

OOBLECK! SLIME! & DANCING SPAGHETTI! (*No Camp on July 4th)

  • What is oobleck? Is quicksand real?  Kitchen science meets classic literature to discover the answers to these questions and many more!  Using basic kitchen ingredients, budding mad scientists mix and concoct non-Newtonian fluids from well known stories and other slimy, sticky, wacky goop. Bring a smock or wear play clothes selected for messy activities.

Week 5: July 10 – 14

HEALTHY BODIES, HEALTHY MINDS

  • Love to dance? Enjoy stretching into yoga zen? Want to create some healthy recipes? Come move your body to a beat and feel healthy during this fitness and cooking class. In this camp, students will play active games, discover new dance moves, and eat healthy and delicious snacks that they have cooked. Join this camp and do something good for your mind and body!

Week 6: July 17 – 21

S.T.E.A.M.

  • Come build, problem solve, create, and explore as campers  jump into the world of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math)! Each day, campers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in one of these areas, working on projects that encourage cooperation and collaboration. Whether it is building bridges to cross an imaginary river, or brightening the world with beautiful works of art, campers are sure to grow in this exciting and engaging week of camp!

Week 7: July 24 – 28

DIY FUN

  • Learn how to make soap, salt scrubs, candles, and more! Students will make beautiful cards, bookmarks, jewelry, tasty treats, and many other handmade gifts.

Week 8: July 31 – Aug 4

PET PALS

  • Do you love to care for furry friends? Spend the week with Ms. Rachel, focusing on all things pet related! Campers will craft toys and treats for dogs, cats, and other animal friends, as well as listen to animal-themed stories. Campers can share the love as they take their crafts home for their own pets, or make some to donate to animals at the local SPCA. It’s going to be paws-itively purr-fect!

 

 

BEARS AFTERNOON CLASSIC CAMP (Add-On)

  • Extend the camp day!  After the morning camp session, bears enjoy their own brown-bag lunch from home, then it’s time to play! The afternoon mixes old-fashioned, outdoor fun with learning through new experiences and new friends. From the gym, to the greentop, to Meade Park, to the classroom, campers will have fun playing games, building with legos, creating fun arts and crafts.

Is your child looking for some fun activities with friends this summer? At Little Bears camps, children will play games, exercise outdoors and make connections between different content areas.

UNDER THE SEA

  • Let’s splash into summer! Campers will learn about aquatic animals and habitats while exploring water and the outdoors.

Week 2:  June 19 – 23

DOWN ON THE FARM

  • Campers will investigate the sights and sounds of friendly farm creatures and learn how farmers grow many of the foods we eat.

Week 3: June 26 – 30

BLAST OFF INTO OUTER SPACE

  • Blast off to infinity and beyond! Campers will spend the week learning about the planets, galaxies, and astronauts.

Week 4: July 3 – 7 (Closed on July 4th)

COMMUNITY HELPERS

  • Campers will learn about our local community helpers such as police officers, firefighters, nurses, teachers and more!

Week 5: July 10 – 14

LITTLE CHEFS

  • Campers will learn about healthy eating and how to cook simple and yummy summertime recipes.

Week 6: July 17 – 21

OOEY, GOOEY SCIENCE

Channel your inner scientist. Campers will feed their curiosity by asking questions, making predictions, and performing experiments. An experiment a day will make learning feel like play.

Week 7: July 24 – 28

FUR, FINS, AND SCALES

  • Come learn about Earth’s weirdest and wackiest creatures!  From the bottom of the sea to high in the sky and everywhere in between, campers will study all there is to know about animal life.

Week 8: July 31 – Aug 4

INSECT INVESTIGATORS AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS

  • Calling all entomologists! Campers will investigate the natural world of insects, bugs, spiders, and more!
